SMS Consent & Messaging Policy

This page describes BookIT's SMS messaging program and the consent you provide when you opt in. This SMS Consent policy is a standalone policy and is not part of any other agreement.

1. Program Description

BookIT (bookitapp.io) operates an SMS messaging program that sends appointment-related text messages to customers of businesses that use BookIT to manage their bookings. Messages are sent only to phone numbers whose owners have expressly opted in through a dedicated SMS consent checkbox on a BookIT booking form.

2. How You Opt In

When you book an appointment through a BookIT booking page, you may enter your mobile phone number. A separate, unchecked SMS consent checkbox will appear with the following language:

“I agree to receive SMS booking confirmations, reminders, and updates from BookIT at the phone number provided. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time.”

You must affirmatively check this box to provide consent. Consent to receive SMS messages is optional and is not required to complete your booking or to use BookIT.

3. Types of Messages You Will Receive

If you opt in, BookIT may send you the following transactional SMS messages:

  • Booking confirmation messages immediately after you complete a booking
  • Appointment reminder messages before your scheduled appointment
  • Status update messages if your booking is approved, rescheduled, or cancelled
  • Cancellation notifications from the business

BookIT does not send marketing, promotional, or advertising SMS messages. All messages are strictly related to your specific appointment bookings.

4. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on the number of bookings you make and your appointment schedule. You will typically receive 1-4 messages per booking (confirmation, reminder, and any status updates).

5. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. BookIT does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may. Please check with your carrier for details on your messaging plan.

6. How to Opt Out (STOP)

You can opt out of receiving SMS messages from BookIT at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message, and then you will not receive any further SMS messages from BookIT.

You may also opt out by contacting us at support@bookitapp.io and requesting to be removed from SMS messaging.

7. How to Get Help (HELP)

If you need help with SMS messaging, reply HELP to any message you receive from BookIT, or contact us at support@bookitapp.io. We will respond with information about the SMS program and how to opt out.

8. No Sharing of Phone Numbers or Consent

BookIT does not share, sell, or transfer your phone number or opt-in consent to any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and SMS consent are used solely by BookIT to deliver the transactional appointment messages described above through our messaging provider, Twilio.

9. Supported Carriers

BookIT's SMS service is available to customers of major U.S. mobile carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and most regional and MVNO carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
